Living Aloha

Our family just got back from an amazing trip to Kaua'i. We went with our dear friends, Jereme, Ariel, and Orion. A lot of relaxing took place as well as tropical fruit eating, swimming, hiking, napping, more relaxing, snorkeling, more fruit eating...A great time was had by all. When do we go again???

Not quite sure about getting up for an early flight

Can I live in this treehouse?

Hawaiian naps are goooood!

Hiking along the Na Pali Coast
This place is horrible! :-)

That hike was HARD!

 Surf's up, brah!

The gang - loungin' on Ke'e Beach.

We took a helicopter tour - what a beautiful place!

Check out the ocean, Dad!

Strike a Pose

Mom asked Logan if she could take a picture of him with the bug he caught in his bug house. Without a word, he ran to get Smokey and then flopped himself on the floor to pose for the picture. The boy's got style :-)

Crayon Making and Cookie Baking

Logan made new crayons today from his old broken ones. He peeled the the paper off and we put them into a silicone mold. We melted them in the oven and let them cool, then popped them out of the mold. Voila! While we were waiting for the crayons to cool, we baked some peanut butter cookies. Crayons in one hand, cookie in the other.
Rocking the apron that belonged to Uncle Geoffrey.

Fallen Leaf Lake

We decided last-minute to squeeze one more camping trip in before a) the summer weather leaves us, and b) Mommy's belly gets too big for sleeping on the ground. We got a site at Fallen Leaf Lake in South Tahoe and had a very mellow family time of hiking, swimming, and s'more making.

Labor Day

Over the long Labor Day weekend, our family went to the Russian River and rented a big house with friends. And even though there were 8 adults, 7 kids (including 2 toddlers and 2 newborns), and 5 dogs, it still felt like a very enjoyable time of relaxation and time with friends :-) Logan and his friend, Astrid, spent most of the weekend sans clothing.

Even the toddlers got to relax poolside...

Our Baby Chick

Logan and Mommy watched a short video of a chick hatching from an egg. A few minutes later, without any prompting from anyone, he was discovered in the living room...

Balance Bike

Now that Logan can finally reach the ground while sitting on his bike, he's off! He was feeling mighty grumpy the other day so Daddy took him out to do laps up and down the street. Just what the doctor ordered...

Logan and his Machines

Every time we walk around the lake (or anywhere) we have to stop and watch the machines working hard to excavate, lift, and haul.

Russian River Camping

Last weekend we took a last-minute camping trip with my friend, Betsy, up to the Russian River. We stayed at a beautiful little campground called Schoolhouse Canyon. It was really, REALLY hot so we walked to the river and swam. We stayed in the water forever 'cause it was a great way to beat the heat. I rode my bike up and down the hill and helped "chop" fire wood...I also got to use my potty in some interesting places.

A Day Out With Thomas

I was so excited to go down to the Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton to ride on Thomas! I had lots of fun, even though I look very serious in all of the photos. It was such a big deal to me I wanted to make sure I took everything in.

Berkeley Kite Festival

I finally got to go to the Berkeley Kite Festival and fly my kite! There were kites of all kinds-big kites, little kites, super duper giant kites, colorful kites, triangle and square kites...there were also some cute little ponies there that Mommy made me ride. Snickers was just my size.

Snickers was great...but I wanted Mommy to hold my hand anyway.

My kite is waaaay up there!

More June Adventures

My friend, Lily, gave me the coolest dragon blanket ever!
I love to put it on and scare everybody :-)

I got super sick. Again.

Mommers shipped the play kitchen that my great, great grandpa made
on the farm in Minnesota.
Mommy, Mommers, and Great Grandma GiGi all played with it before me.

I wear big kid underwear now! Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous about the whole potty training thing, but all they had to do was take my diaper off and tell me to go potty in the toilet.
I had this one all under control.

We went to the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton.
It was super fun and super hot, so I simply had to have
an ice cream cone. Really, it was to bring my core temp down.
