We have been trying to decide when and how to get rid of Logan's pacis. He only has them at night, but anyone who knows him knows that his pacis are REALLY IMPORTANT!!! We even dressed him as Paci Man once for Halloween.
He "sent" a few of them at a time to the new babies at the hospital, but had been hanging on to the last three for a couple of months (by 'sent' we mean he put them in a ziploc and placed them in the mailbox).
Last week I went for a run, and when I came back Dan told me that Logan had decided to put his last pacis in the mail. We stared at each other. Terrified. Logan said that the doctor told him he doesn't need them anymore now that he's three, which is actually only
sort of what the doctor said.
I made a faux thank you card signed by the faux doctor - complete with a picture of one of the faux babies at the faux hospital using one of 'his' pacis - and sent it official snail mail to Logan. He hasn't looked back and hasn't made any fuss about giving up his beloved pacis.
And
that's our early Christmas miracle.
